Tube bending machines from the Linear series have small bending heads that allow them to create particularly complex geometries in a single work cycle. These machines can form multistack and multiradius bends with manually reconfigurable bending direction, and can made bends with CLR/DIA ratio even less than 0.8. The nine controlled axes that govern the machine’s movement are driven by absolute digital electric motors with Full Electric technology and controlled by a CNC Siemens 840D sl.

Description

The 980LE is a CNC tube bending machine in the Linear series for tubes with a diameter of up to 80 mm. The frame has a standard length of 5600 mm and the stroke of the machine can be extended with or without a recovery cycle. The main feature of this machine is the cutting-edge pneumatic balancing that saves energy and increases performance. The tiny steel bending head has a chain-driven transmission that provides space under the machine’s bending head to process complex tube geometries in a single cycle. The bending direction can be reconfigured manually by the operator quickly and intuitively such that set-up and start-up is minimal. The compact size makes this machine extremely versatile. In fact, like the other models in the Linear series, the vertical stroke makes it possible to fit simultaneously several tools with different radii and clamping, and even existing tools. The reliability of this machine is guaranteed by the technological solutions used. Component damage from accidental collisions is minimised by the horizontal dynamics of the plane positioner, while the axes move on linear guide rails and recirculating ball carriages that reduce wear and improve performance compared to the traditional solutions. The 980LE can be equipped with a vast range of accessories, such as the Tangent Boost device which pushes the tube axially all the way into the wiper die region during bending to speed up the process and to minimise scraps. An optional cutting system is available. The high production rate, the versatility for a vast range of accessories for specific and unusual jobs, the ability to produce bends with a CLR/DIA ratio even lower than 0.8, and the ability to thrust bends with variable radius make this machine suitable for sectors where efficiency and productivity are imperatives. The machine’s 9 axes are driven by motors with Fully Electric technology and controlled by Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl. The 980LE has a three-dimensional graphical sofware on a 19” LCD touch screen for the operator to interact with the machine to simulate and to optimise the tube bending programs. This machine is designed to integrate into the Smart Factory system.
