Power and precision for high intensity bending processes

Tube bending machines from the Heavy series stand out for their rigidity and precision, which ensure high level performance and maximum repeatability in heavy processes. The small dimensions of the bending heads and, in particular, the movements that these machines make, allow them to process complex tube geometries in a single cycle. Normally, finished pieces would require a double bending direction or post-processing operations. Furthermore, the high vertical excursion of these tube bending machines makes it possible to increase the number of processing levels, and despite their impressive dimensions, these machines ensure high energy savings.

Description

The largest machine in the Heavy series, the 150HE can bend mild steel tubes with a diameter of up to 150 mm. Like other machines in the Heavy series, it is known for its high rigidity and precision, which ensure superior performance among other machines of similar size. The bending head structure is fixed to the base to guarantee the machine’s highest level of rigidity during heavy processing, while the horizontal and vertical movements are to the left of the tube. The high vertical stroke allows several number of working levels to interface with existing tools. The compact bending head allows the creation of particularly complex tube geometries in a single cycle, which would normally require double bending directions. The nine axes are driven by absolutely digital motors with Full Electric technology controlled by Siemens SINUMERIK 840D sl. The combination of Full Electric technology and dual axes guarantees high efficiency, quality, energy savings, set-up/start up time reduction, and scrap minimisation. With the “Tangent Boost” device, the tube can be pushed axially all the way into the slide/wiper-die area during bending, optimising the tube development and reducing the scrap even further. The high production rate, the ability to produce bends with CLR/DIA ratio even lower than 0.8, and the ability to thrust bends with variable radii make this machine particularly suitable for sectors with intensive processing requiring high levels of precision. The machine has a three-dimensional graphical sofware on a 19” LCD Touch screen, where the operator can interact intuitively with the machine. The UII (User ISO Interface) also allows the operator to program, to simulate, and to optimise the bending programs. This machine is designed to be integrated into Smart Factory system. The single stack version of the machine and the CNC double-blade cutting system are available as options.
